Tawang means dramatic mountains, peaceful monasteries, winding roads and memorable Himalayan landscapes. Our Tawang tour packages help you explore the region with a plan built around your interests, the time you have and how you like to travel.
Beyond the usual journey
Tawang Monastery is the cultural heart of a visit. The mountains along the route give spectacular views, and Sela Pass is a highlight in itself. The road is part of the experience, through mountain scenery, local culture and quiet surroundings. We plan sightseeing so you have time to enjoy each stop.
Our approach to Tawang travel
Mountain travel needs careful planning and coordination. We plan around realistic drive times, weather and altitude, ask how fast you want to go and what interests you, and keep the trip comfortable from start to finish.
Tawang tour itineraries
Sample plans we run often. Dates, hotels, pace and stops can all be changed.
Seven to eight days from Guwahati is comfortable. Add days for Bum La, Madhuri Lake or a Kaziranga stop.
Is Sela Pass open all year?
Sela Pass is generally open year-round, but heavy snow can close it for short periods in winter. The Sela tunnel has improved access. We check conditions before and during your trip.
What permits are needed for Tawang?
Indian visitors need an Inner Line Permit (ILP). Bum La also needs a separate army permit arranged in Tawang. We guide you through both.
